An East Coast Start

Trinity Myers selling handmade pottery, 2017

My journey of pursuing ceramics started on the east coast in 2016. I grew up in a tiny town in southern Pennsylvania surrounded by homemade Amish goods. Everyone was handy in something, and I took to painting very young. I fell in love with throwing on the wheel in high school, and have been making pottery ever since.

The photo taken above was from one of my first gigs at a local campground in PA I would go to with my family as a kid. I have since moved to Northern California, obtained my AA-T Studio Arts degree at the Napa Valley College and am obtaining my BFA with an emphasis in ceramics in Fall 2026.

My favorite pieces to make are funky mugs and berry bowls. I love playing with attaching weird handles and pushing the clay to make interestingly wavy-shaped bodies for the mugs. I have recently taken an interest in litho printmaking, I can’t wait to see where it takes me!
